Supplementary information

Native to tropical America, cultivated or sometime escaped into the wild in Hong Kong. Spike rachis slender; bracts with scarious margin below middle, entire and ciliate; corolla tube with sparse short glandular hair abaxially, with long glandular hair adaxially and white villous at throat; corolla lobes with sparse short glandular hair on both side. Stamens included, style slightly exserted.
