Cultivated. A hybrid between B. purpurea L. and B. variegata L.
At the base of petioles, nectar-like secretion from unknown origin was found.
Leaves adaxially glabrous, abaxially sparsely pubescent, bilobed to 1/4 - 1/3 of the length, apex of each lobes obtuse.
Flower with 5 stamens and 2 -5 staminodes. Ovary pubescent.
Fruit usually not produced.
