Supplementary information
Native to North America. Tree, deciduous; pneumatophores present or absent around trunk; trunk buttressed at base; bark brown, reddish brown, or gray, peeling off in long strips. Main branches spreading horizontally. Leaves on annual branchlets twisted at base and 2-ranked, linear and flat. Pollinating since March till April, seed mature in October (or as early as July).
